Quality Assurance Program
3S Industries Quality System has been established to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standards. Our transformers are designed and constructed to conform to International Safety Standards (IEC) or individual countries (CSA, VDE etc.) as well as the new EN standard of the European Community member countries. We have a UL family recognition UL File Nos. is E150443 (USR and CNR) for Class B 130 and Class H 180. We have CAN/CSA recognition and we are manufacturing to UL standards such as UL1008 Standard for Transfer Switch Equipment, UL506, UL747D, UL5085, UL1411 (industrial) and UL544 (Medical) for both class A and Class 130 (B) insulation systems.
(USR) United States Standards – Recognized
(CNR) Canadian National Standards - Recognized
Our Quality Assurance program starts at the time we initiate our design based on your transformer specification, and goes on for all the other steps like optimization of your design, and detailed tests and inspection of prototypes and manufactured products.
Quality Assurance continued Program
Specialized and industry wide recognized for our precision and short time turnarounds, we can easily work with our customers on Just-in-time programs. We are also building our products to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) or non RoHS specification as required by our customers.
Quality Assurance
Although computerized winding equipment is used, the uniform quality of our transformers is the result of skilled operators. Training of operators and supervisors and weekly quality review meetings are steps that we at 3S Industries take to maintain consistent quality of workmanship between different lots. In addition, in-process inspection of each lot is performed to correct any errors during each manufacturing step.
Final Inspection
All transformers and choke products are subjected to 100% final inspection of electrical and mechanical data. Our standard electrical tests include no-load currents and no-load voltages; 4000VAC Hi-Pot test between primaries and secondaries, primaries to core and secondaries to core; and if transformer is shielded between shields and windings. Visual inspection includes physical dimensions and appearances. Additional tests can be specified by customer, such as maximum level of magnetic strayfields, mechanical hum, leakage current, voltage and current data under load, markings etc.
Production Material
All material used in our production is UL/CSA listed, when applicable. Multi-source purchasing policy is maintained whenever necessary to assure availability and no interruption on the shop floor. We also stock in inventory a good share of materials needed in our manufacturing in case of sudden shortages in the market.
